Burger King: No shoes rule taken too far with baby – Yahoo! News.

SUNSET HILLS, Mo. – Like most restaurants, the Burger King in this St. Louis suburb has a no shoes, no shirt, no service policy. And baby, do they enforce it. Too much so, the company admitted, after apologizing for restaurant workers who asked a mother to leave because her 6-month-old wasn’t wearing shoes.

Jennifer Frederich, her mother and Frederich’s infant daughter, Kaylin, stopped at the Burger King in Sunset Hills on Sunday. The baby was shoeless — Frederich figured tiny baby feet were immune from the rule.

Man struck by airplane piece

DEARBORN, Mich., Aug. 5 (UPI) — A Michigan man said he was struck on the shoulder by a piece of an airplane while he was talking to his wife in front of his home.

Wissam Beydoun, 41, of Dearborn, said he initially thought his wife had thrown something at him when he felt the impact on his shoulder, which he said left only a bump, the Detroit Free Press reported Wednesday.

Man charged with barking at police dog

THREE RIVERS, Mich., Aug. 6 (UPI) — A 26-year-old Michigan man was arrested for allegedly barking at a police dog, authorities said.

The Three Rivers Police Department said in the statement that, Anija, a police K-9, had been left in a patrol car by its handler and the officer returned to find the suspect had started “to torment the police dog by barking and shouting at the animal,” the Kalamazoo (Mich.) Gazette reported Thursday.

HOUSTON, Aug. 6 (UPI) — Houston police say a man weighing nearly 600 pounds concealed a 9mm handgun in his layers of fat for more than a day while in custody.

Police said George Vera, 25, was arrested for an unspecified reason Aug. 2 and held in the city jail for a day before being taken to the Harris County Jail. There, he revealed to police he was hiding the handgun and two clips, KPRC-TV, Houston, reported Thursday.

Ohio home damaged by bear

STREETSBORO, Ohio, Aug. 6 (UPI) — Authorities in Ohio say a black bear is the prime suspect in putting a huge hole in the wall of a home and smashing out a basement window.

The Ohio Division of Wildlife said the damage to Steve Lenart’s home in Streetsboro this week included a hole ripped through an outside wall that extends through the inside drywall to expose the motor of the home’s kitchen dishwasher. The damage bore claw marks and paw prints consistent with those of a black bear, WJW-TV, Cleveland, reported Thursday.

ROCK HILL, S.C., Aug. 4 (UPI) — South Carolina police said a moped driver towing a stolen lawn mower pulled over for officers but attempted to flee from them on foot.

Lindsey Phillips Jr., 42, of Rock Hill, was spotted Friday afternoon towing a lawn mower and a weed eater behind his moped, about six hours after the lawn mower had been reported stolen, The (Rock Hill) Herald reported Tuesday.

LONDON, Aug. 4 (UPI) — A ‘bubbleologist” has created what he says is the world’s largest free-floating soap bubble in a London park.

Samsam Bubbleman, 37, a professional bubble-maker who has performed for the Dubai royal family and numerous celebrities, said he created the giant bubble, which stretched to 20 feet by 5 feet by 5 feet at its largest, using a secret formula he developed during the past 20 years, the Daily Mail reported Tuesday.
